This is the Design Practice Blog, which is basically my own work over the next year, different briefs, different styles and different headaches. Expect lots of drowning here.

The main problem with this ident for us is the 'kill bill' title, it seems almost a waste not to use the origional sans serif typeface that is so iconic to the film.
If you were thinking of typographical idents (like jackie brown) then this could be explored into further or at least used more so on this ident.
Im not sure you have captured that 70s style in this ident althoguht the noise dose give it that more aged effect. Again just to think about how your idents are going to link together?
All you idents are done on a 4:3 scale (i think thats it) but you have to remeber that the brief was to design to a 16:9 scale. we do understand what you were saying about keeping to the size that they were origionaly shown but i think it needs to be more obvious.
We had the idea of using a TV image on all your idents, so you design to the 16:9 scale but your animations are still in that origional scales. If you go on here and look at the 5th down, this is a good example of what we mean, its the Ashes to Ashes dvd menu. http://www.eyeframe.co.uk/News_Pages/eyeframe_recent_work.html
You need to get your storyboards up here, all the A6 ones from the last crit would help infoming your decisions, there seems to be no backup work to support any of your idents, remember this is a 'design' for digital brief.

You have got loads of research into the VHS videos and players and test cards, which is all very 70s and some really nice imagery, are you using this imagery in any of your idents? (like an old TV, would link it all up really well).
We really want to know what your thinking when your are selecting theses images and videos, there seems to be little citical ananlysis of any of these posts, what have you selected and why? the BBC1 logo, why did you choose that instead of the channel 4 or any of the others. just to show us your train of thought through this process.
