People don't hate Tea.

To justify convincing people to drink tea for 'persuade' for the next next part of the brief is just not needed. Looking on plenty of forums, fan sites and websites it seems not many people don't actually like tea. On average half the posts on a Forum for 'I hate tea' would infact be people saying they like tea and trying to convince the rest, or just that they don't like tea apart from a particular type of tea.

Instruct sketch model

For alot of work all ive seem to do is mailshots, and little packs to help people, and here is another example.. As a way of instructing people on how to make a cup of tea, I thought of making 5 step guide trying to keep things simple and easy. The idea is you place everything you need around your mug in the middle and work round in a circle. The instructions would include tea bags/sugar ready and anything else depending on the type of tea (lemon for earl grey)

Lots of tea.

I bought lots of tea, to explore whats available, try some more new flavours, check out the packaging and learn a little more about tea. At the moment They just seem to be boxed with maybe a nice graphic on the side. Hopefully something will be done about this in the next part of the brief.

Print Book. GO

Well! here we go.. For the 16 page booklet, keeping with my new 'K.I.S.S' ethic for the work, I want to keep it all very simple and clean to help with the information. Flicking back through my summer brief books, I remembered I took a sample of a header out of a booklet from tesco (let me finish!) Which has block colour and white type reversed out and it looks quite good, atleast for a starting point. I thought it would be nice to keep as a constant theme throughout the book. The format of the book is also quite nice, landscape pages mounted on the height of the page. This'll be where the layouts will begin.

Type workshop

The session was about placing texts and forcing the reader to read in a different order.. here are some examples of trying to get 1-4 instead of 4-1

I feel this is the most successful.

What is good? The first stage of development and actually really useful. My friends laughed when I told them that morning we wrote in groups of 4 and 5 what we thought was good. It was useful to tie down specifically what we think is good, research and prove for the 2 minute presentation/statement to convince people. The second part where we ripped apart other groups' choice of 6 'goods' showed its so much easier to to find faults with simple objects, phrases and interests.. something we will have to over come. These images courtesy of Mr Holderness are of the group sheets.. My list of potential 'goods' is coming. Hold tight.
